Groupe Jean Nonet built around circular economy.
Every year, the construction sector generates millions of tonnes of waste and consumes vast quantities of virgin resources. The Nonet Group has chosen to turn this challenge into an opportunity: making the circular economy the core of its industrial model.
A pioneering and integrated strategy
Everything accelerated in 2024 with the investment in an innovative washing plant in Floreffe. This technology makes it possible to transform inert earthy waste into high-quality sand and aggregates. As a result, in 2025, more than 70% of the 170,000 tonnes of waste processed was recovered, reversing the historical trend where the majority ended up in landfill.
In 2025, the Group took a decisive step forward with the integration of two companies: Sobemo (concrete production) and Belgarena (geographical expansion of a recycling platform). This double consolidation created a closed-loop model: recycled aggregates are reintroduced locally into concrete production, guaranteeing quality, proximity and a reduction in virgin raw materials. Belgarena, for its part, is extending the distribution of these circular materials to a new geographical area to meet the needs of the group’s construction division..
A measurable environmental impact
In a voluntary transparency initiative, the Nonet Group has structured the measurement of its impact via a rigorous ESG report, aligned with CSRD and GRI standards from 2025 onwards. This roadmap targets nine priority Sustainable Development Goals to concretely steer the company’s environmental and social performance. It enables key indicators, such as the waste recovery rate and carbon footprint, to be monitored, while formalising ethical governance. This report, available on its website, thus transforms the Group’s circular ambitions into measurable and auditable results for all stakeholders.
Innovation and social responsibility
With nearly 500 employees, the Nonet Group embodies strong values: Respect, Enthusiasm, Partnership, Results. It invests in continuing education, professional integration and inclusion, while involving its teams in governance through shared ownership. This corporate culture promotes innovation and stability.
A replicable Belgian model
By combining technology, vertical integration of business lines and a sustainable vision, the Nonet Group proves that it is possible to reconcile economic performance with environmental responsibility. This circular model is ready to be rolled out in other regions facing raw material shortages and saturation of outlets, such as Wallonia.
Its ambition? To build a future where waste management becomes a resource, where proximity reduces emissions, and where circularity is the norm.
Vote for a circular future
The Nonet Group isn’t just following the transition: it’s leading it. If you believe in sustainable, local and innovative construction driven by motivated people, support our approach by voting for us. Together, let’s make circularity the norm in Belgium.
